In order to efficiently monitor and take advantage of the long battery life, each probe is associated with one pot. Probes should not be moved unless changing pots or other necessary reasons. If you decide to stop using a probe you can disconnect it from inside the app.
Depending on wether the outdoor location has Wi-Fi connection, and the plant is potted and not planted in yard space, the probes can function as well for outdoor plants.
The battery technology used in the probes is very advanced and high quality. Each battery is made to withhold charge for upto 6+ years with constant use.
The HydroPing Probes are moisture detectors designed for soil. They’re not water level trackers, so plants like bamboo and aquarium greens won’t work with them. The probes are 24mmx24mmx115mm and can fit in any pot with enough space, as long as the aluminum section is submerged in soil.
